Little Kennedy Stevens-showing me things I didn't know about me...

On my unexpected quest for motherhood (who would have EVER thought I'd say that?!)-which has quickly been moving from "No Way" to "Hmmm.....how amazing"- I've met Ms. Kennedy. Quite honestly, if you'd asked me if I wanted children even 6 months ago, I would have handed you every excuse in the book about how it's just not the right choice for me.

But then I go and meet great little girls like Kennedy, and that tiny voice inside me shouts out "This is awesome!" "Look how wonderful she is". I often think that my career choice was pretty much my fate. I am in love with what I do. And now I think maybe I can see a new part of my life falling into place-in addition to photo. Not to worry-can't stop taking the photos!

At any rate, I got to hold Kennedy at the end of our session, and she fell asleep while I was feeding her. Her dad (My and Jay's friend, Chad) told me I'd gotten her into a deep sleep, and I had the touch. Haha! Who knew? Crazy...

Some of my favorite images from this session resulted from us sitting down and chatting before we started. Chad and Mandy (Dad and Mom) were talking about how they would just lie in bed with Kennedy, looking at her and each other, and thinking about how amazing she was, and that they made her. After hearing that story, how could we not want to get an image of that memory?? We also got some pictures in their back yard, on a bench that Chad made. And in the picture where you see the castle on the wall behind Kennedy and Mandy-Chad painted that on the wall for her- their l'il princess. Love it! I love getting the chance to add some personal touches  to photos.

Thanks for sharing your home, and being great together and great for Kennedy. :)
